Our Training Programs

The Toronto Centre for Ultrasound Studies, TCUS offers registry exam preparation theory and hands-on practical scanning training programs in various specialty areas. Our theory classes are focused on preparing the participants for writing the Registry Specialty Examinations.


Certificate of participation shall be awarded upon successful completion of the individual training programs. To ensure individual attention, classes are held in short groups. Each session has duration of 2-hours.

Hands-on Ultrasound Scanning Programs

UT 101: Abdomen & Small Parts

UT 102: Gynecology & Obstetrics

UT 103: Musculoskeletal [Currently not an ARDMS Specialty]

UT 104: Vascular Scanning


The hands-on training shall bridge the theoretical knowledge of the participant in the practical sonographic examination. The hands-on programs shall include a brief overview of the theoretical concepts and training in scanning techniques. The participants shall be provided with the opportunity for scanning using ultrasound equipment.

Each hands-on program has a duration of 7-weeks.

Cost of each hands-on training programs is $650

UT 201: Ultrasound Physics & Instrumentation [an ARDMS Specialty]

Cost of this program is $600 with a duration of 16-hrs of teaching and 12-hrs of practice questions.
